Job summary

Avara Foods Ltd is hiring Weekend Hygiene Operatives for our Hereford site in Herefordshire. You will work 18:00–02:00 on Saturdays and Sundays, ensuring hygiene and food safety standards are met with the Hygiene team. No prior experience is required as full training is provided.

You will join a busy production environment with opportunities for overtime and a guaranteed minimum weekly earnings of £230, with a base rate of £13.67 per hour and a £2.13 per hour shift allowance.

Qualifications

• No experience required; full training provided.
• Good level of English and basic numeracy.
• Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively.
• Experience in production/manufacturing is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Achieve hygiene standards as part of the Hygiene team.
• Adhere to health, safety and food safety rules.
• Carry out cleaning and sanitation of plant and equipment.
• Meet housekeeping standards individually and with the team.
• Follow instructions from Team Leader/Management.

About the role

Reporting to the Team Leader, you will play an instrumental part in achieving the required hygiene standards with the Hygiene team for Avara Foods. You will adhere to health and safety at all times and follow all tasks in line with food safety rules.

Duties include

• Understanding and attainment of both individual and department targets.
• Awareness of the usage of material and energy sources.
• Co-operate in the continuous improvement of quality, safety and productivity standards.
• Manual handling of plant and equipment
• Isolation of plant and machinery
• To meet housekeeping and hygiene standards individually and as part of a team.
• Compliance with food safety and HSE guidelines
• To carry out instructions as given to you by your Team Leader/Management

What are we looking for?

• Good level of English and basic numeracy skills
• The ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively
• Good attention to detail and a flexible attitude to tasks
• Experience within a production/manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided
