Job summary

Falcon Support Services in Loughborough is seeking a Weekend Homelessness Project Assistant to support residents with housing, welfare and personal development on a rotating 12-hour weekend shift (08:00–20:00).

You will work alongside the Support Worker to empower clients toward independence, follow tailored support plans, and help with housing and benefits applications while promoting safety and well‑being within the community.

Qualifications

• Understand the needs of people who are homeless, including those with substance use or mental health issues.
• Empower individuals to make informed choices and positive change.
• Maintain a customer care and quality-focused approach.
• Handle difficult situations, aggression and conflict appropriately.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong time management and organisational abilities.
• Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Physically able to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Willingness to undertake general housekeeping tasks.
• Commitment to equality and diversity in all work undertaken.
• Willingness to undergo enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality accommodation, housing management and support to residents.
• Empower clients to move towards independence through agreed plans.
• Work with clients on support plans and liaise with outside agencies as needed.
• Communicate effectively with clients, staff and external organisations.
• Monitor rent arrears and assist with benefits applications.
• Promote client involvement in education, training, and volunteering.
• Implement and review support plans and risk assessments.
• Maintain accurate client documentation and records in IT systems.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and procedures.
