Job summary

Gressingham Foods is seeking a Weekend Farm Worker to support our egg production teams. The role focuses on maintaining welfare standards, assisting with egg collection, grading and cleaning, and contributing to safe working practices on site.

You will work Saturdays and Sundays (every other weekend) from about 6:00am to 11:00am with weekend pay. Own transport is essential due to the remote location. This permanent position offers benefits including pension, training and staff events.

Assist the farm team to achieve target egg production and fertility.
Work to a high health and safety standard on site.
Handle day-to-day collection, grading and washing of eggs.
Produce records for up-to-date information.

Job description

Job Title: Weekend Farm Worker

Reporting to: Farm Manager

Overall aim of the Job: To produce eggs of the best quality as efficiently as possible.

Key Tasks Within The Job

To maintain and improve the highest welfare standards.
To assist the farm team to achieve target levels of egg production and fertility, as efficiently as possible.
To work to a high health and safety standard.
Responsible for the day-to-day collection, grading and washing of eggs.
Working with the team to produce all records required in order to provide accurate, up-to-date information.
Monitor and report any required repairs to buildings and machinery to the Site Manager ensuring the site operates efficiently and safely.
Liaise regularly with Site Manager, and communicate with site staff and colleagues as appropriate, regarding successes and problems to ensure the consistent flow of information.
Report any shortage of farm supplies to the Site Manager.
Maintain all aspects of company policy on site (as per the Company Handbook)
Be Responsible for maintaining the health and welfare of the ducks on site.
To carry out any other tasks relating to poultry farming as the company may reasonably require.
