Job summary

Gressingham Foods is seeking a Temporary Weekend Farm Worker to join our poultry team in England. The role covers early mornings on Saturdays and Sundays, handling egg collection, grading and washing, and ensuring welfare and safety standards are met.

You will work with the Farm Manager to meet production targets, maintain records, report repairs, and support colleagues. Own transport is essential due to the site location.

Responsibilities

Maintain welfare standards of poultry on site.
Assist the farm team to achieve egg production and fertility targets.
Work to a high health and safety standard.
Handle day-to-day collection, grading and washing of eggs.
Work with the team to produce records for up-to-date information.
Monitor and report repairs to buildings and machinery to the Site Manager.
Liaise regularly with Site Manager and site staff to ensure smooth information flow.
Report shortages of farm supplies to the Site Manager.
Maintain all aspects of company policy on site.
Maintain the health and welfare of the ducks on site.
Carry out other poultry farming tasks as required by the company.

Overall aim of the Job: To produce eggs of the best quality as efficiently as possible.

Key Tasks Within The Job

To maintain and improve the highest welfare standards.
To assist the farm team to achieve target levels of egg production and fertility, as efficiently as possible.
To work to a high health and safety standard.
Responsible for the day-to-day collection, grading and washing of eggs.
Working with the team to produce all records required in order to provide accurate, up-to-date information.
Monitor and report any required repairs to buildings and machinery to the Site Manager ensuring the site operates efficiently and safely.
Liaise regularly with Site Manager, and communicate with site staff and colleagues as appropriate, regarding successes and problems to ensure the consistent flow of information.
Report any shortage of farm supplies to the Site Manager.
Maintain all aspects of company policy on site (as per the Company Handbook)
Be Responsible for maintaining the health and welfare of the ducks on site.
To carry out any other tasks relating to poultry farming as the company may reasonably require.
