Job summary

Valley Care in West Yorkshire is seeking Health Care Assistants to join our local care teams across Wakefield East (Pontefract) and surrounding areas. You’ll provide life-changing care and support that enables vulnerable adults to live safely in their own homes.

No previous experience is required as full training is provided, with shifts mornings, evenings, and weekends. A driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for this role.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist service users with personal care (washing, bathing, toilet).
• Help with mobility and use of aids and equipment.
• Do domestic tasks (beds, tidying, laundry, cleaning).
• Help with eating and drinking by preparing meals and drinks.
• Support with administering medication and recordkeeping.
• Participate in end-of-life care when needed.

Job Description

• Our home care assistants are responsible for assisting service users with personal care such as washing, bathing and toilet arrangements.
• Helping service users overcome any mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including helping in the use and care of aids and personal equipment.
• Domestic tasks such as making and changing beds, tidying rooms, light cleaning, laundry and emptying commodes
• Help with eating and drinking by preparing meals, snacks and drinks
• Support with administrating medication.
• Contribute as needed to a person’s end-of-life care

Requirements

• Have a right to work within the UK
• A driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role
• No previous experience is necessary but you will need to demonstrate real compassion, be an excellent communicator and problem solver, and be committed to delivering high-quality, respectful care
