Job summary

As a Chef at Sodexo, Priory Hospital Southampton, you’ll prepare meals to a high standard and support patient wellbeing. You’ll manage your section, thrive in a fast-paced kitchen, and contribute to menu development.

NVQ Level 2 and 2+ years’ experience preferred; strong cooking skills and teamwork are essential. The role is part-time, with weekend shifts, and offers Sodexo benefits in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) and at least 2 years’ experience as a chef.
• Strong culinary skills and a genuine passion for cooking.
• Ability to perform well under pressure in a busy kitchen.
• Clear, respectful communication and a strong team spirit.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and quality standards.
• Contribute to menu planning and recipe development.
• Support, guide, and train junior chefs and kitchen staff.
• Ensure full compliance with health and safety, hygiene, cleanliness, COSHH, and fire safety regulations.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment.
