Job summary

Aramark UK is recruiting a Cook in their Education sector to join our team at the Salvation Army, EH89UE. This permanent role offers 16 hours per week with regular shifts and a supportive team.

You will oversee food production, ensuring meals meet recipe specifications and quality standards, while minimising waste and adhering to HACCP, COSHH, and allergen regulations. Training and career progression are provided.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee food production and service with efficient workflow.
• Prepare meals according to recipes and quality standards while minimising waste.
• Delegate tasks, supervise staff, and train new employees.
• Ensure HACCP, COSHH, allergen regulations and accurate record keeping.
• Track inventory, place orders, and manage stock rotation to control costs.
• Handle customer enquiries and dietary requirements while promoting a positive dining experience.
• Assist the Chef Manager with food costs and waste targets.
• Maintain production records and logs for audits.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee food production and service, ensuring an efficient workflow and high-quality meal preparation.
• Ensure all food is prepared according to recipe specifications, menu requirements, and quality standards whileminimisingwaste.
• Delegate tasks, supervise General Assistants, and train new employeesonfood preparation, customer service, and safety procedures
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, COSHH, allergen regulations, and company food safety policies, includingaccuraterecord keeping.
• Track inventory levels, complete stock checks, place orders, and manage stock rotation to reduce waste and control costs.
• Handle customer enquiries, dietary requirements, and complaints professionally while promoting a positive dining experience.
• Assist the Chef Manager in managing food costs, achieving gross profit targets, andmaintainingwaste levels within the 5% target.
• Maintain production records, temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and documentationrequiredfor audits and compliance purposes.
