Job summary

Bluebird Care Isle of Wight is seeking a Weekend Carer to join our Care Expert Team. You will provide high-quality, person-centred care in customers’ homes across the Isle of Wight, working weekends with flexible shifts and comprehensive induction.

We offer expert training, competitive hourly rates (£14.25 per hour), mileage allowance, and ongoing career development through the Bluebird Academy. Join a friendly, supportive team dedicated to dignity and independence.

Qualifications

• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Compassionate attitude with a calm approach to care.
• Full Right to Work in the UK; sponsorship not available.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Previous care experience is beneficial but not required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care tailored to each person’s needs.
• Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing and dressing.
• Help with meal preparation and nutrition.
• Support with medications and safe disposal where applicable.
• Carry out light housework and keep the home tidy.
• Be a dependable, friendly presence for customers.

Responsibilities

As a Weekend Carer, your key responsibilities will include:

• Provide high-quality care tailored to each person’s individual needs
• Assist with personal care (e.g. bathing, dressing, grooming)
• Help with meal prepping, preparation and nutrition
• Support with medication, prescriptions and safe disposal
• Carry out light housework like tidying, laundry and general cleaning
• Be a dependable friendly, familiar face for all the customers you care for

Competitive rates of £14.25 per hour.

Requirements
