Job summary

McGeoch Technology Ltd. in Birmingham is seeking a Waterjet Operator to join our manufacturing team. The role involves setting up and operating water jet and laser cutting machines, loading materials safely and maintaining quality standards on all output.

You will read engineering drawings, inspect products with measuring tools and keep accurate production records. The position is permanent with on-site hours and a focus on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience operating manufacturing machinery (water jet, laser, CNC or similar).
• Ability to read engineering drawings is desirable.
• Good attention to detail and pride in high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate water jet and laser cutting machines.
• Load and unload materials safely and efficiently.
• Monitor machine performance and make routine adjustments where required.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Carry out quality inspections using measuring equipment to ensure products meet specification.
• Identify defects or production issues and report them promptly.
• Complete production records and maintain accurate documentation.
• Carry out routine machine cleaning and basic maintenance checks.
• Ensure materials are correctly identified and handled.
• Work to production schedules and meet daily output targets.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Follow all Health & Safety procedures and company policies.
