Job summary

Severn Trent is hiring a Technical Operator to join our Water Treatment team serving the Worcester area. You will operate groundwater sources and distribution assets to deliver high quality water, working with maintenance and process teams using eSCADA to stay compliant and energy efficient.

The role includes completing a Level 2 apprenticeship over 12–15 months with monthly training at our Academy; if GCSEs aren’t in place, we’ll support Functional Skills Level 1 first.

Qualifications

• Excellent organisation, multitasking, and ability to work under pressure.
• Independent and team player with strong communication and analytical skills.
• Experience in mechanical/electrical environments; knowledge of chemical processes is a bonus.
• Full, valid UK driving licence required.
• Prepare Level 2 Water Process Operator apprenticeship or technical bootcamp.
• Diversity, caring attitude, and willingness to get involved.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain groundwater sources and water treatment processes.
• Operate distribution service reservoirs and booster stations.
• Maintain site standards and improve health and safety.
• Ensure quality/quantity limits met and environmental impact avoided.
• Ensure health and safety of colleagues and the public.
• Operate sites cost-effectively with energy efficiency.
• Comply with statutory requirements and company policies.
