Job summary

Polyteck Group is seeking a Water Treatment / Hygiene Engineer to perform planned maintenance, water hygiene tasks and remedial works across sites in London and the South East. The role covers logbook maintenance, L8 HSG274 compliance and ongoing customer service on a mobile basis.

The ideal candidate will have City & Guild in Risk Assessments & Water Treatment (or similar), plumbing/mechanical qualifications and strong IT/reporting skills.

Qualifications

• Must be organised and able to manage multiple sites.
• Strong knowledge of L8 HSG274 and related industry documents.
• Experience with risk assessments and water treatment.
• Plumbing/mechanical engineering background preferred.
• Good computer literacy and report writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure effective running of the assigned jobs.

Job description

Salary: £36,000 – £40,000 DOELocation: Mobile - London & South EastContract:Permanent | 40 hours per weekThis is an exciting opportunity for a skilledWater Treatment / Hygiene Engineerto join our growing team.

You will carry out planned preventative maintenance, water hygiene tasks and remedial works in line with relevant regulations, ensuring full compliance and safety across multiple sites.

Principle Responsibilities:

• Ensure effective running of the assigned jobs
• Systematic and logical sequence of works.
• Pick up on remedial works.
• Ensure log books on site up to date.
• Ensure Polyteck adhere to L8 HSG274 legislation.
• Carry out logbook audits & site surveys
• To ensure COSHH records are on site and up to date.
• Liaise with Help Desk on PPM works.

Key Duties:

• Complete PPM works are carried out to L8 HSG274, SFG20 and HVAC standards.
• Delivering Legionella control, mechanical maintenance, and water treatment services across schools, councils, and commercial properties.
• Servicing of water softeners, filtration units, TMV’s, dosing equipment & swimming pool plant/equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Closed system analysis, dosing & flushing.
• Maintain Cooling Tower and associated equipment.
• Testing and maintaining Cl02 equipment.
• Auditing sites and updating of site logbooks. Reporting to Management on site issues.
• When required undertake site surveys of domestic water services in accordance with ACOP L8, BS 8580-1:2019 and HSG274 Parts 2 & 3 requirements.
• Knowledge of Healthcare Technical Memorandums HTM04-01/ HTM 01-05 is beneficial but not essential.
• Assist others in service, install, commission and maintain water treatment equipment.
• Assist others in tank repairs, replacements and Chlorination’s Some plumbing & electrical skills required.

• To be willing to work in excess of usual working hours when the balance of the company’s work or allocated responsibilities requires this. We do not expect excessive working hours, rather we require flexibility when there is a clear benefit to the company
