Job summary

Anglian Water is seeking a Water Smart Development Specialist to translate water-smart concepts into practical guidance for developers, designers and authorities. Based in Huntingdon with hybrid working, you will support EWSC and BWSP initiatives from early development through to delivery.

You’ll bring expertise in water efficiency, rainwater harvesting, greywater recycling, sustainable drainage and integrated water management, with strong stakeholder engagement to produce clear, actionable

Qualifications

• Experience supporting the design, specification or implementation of water, environmental or infrastructure solutions.
• Knowledge of water efficiency, rainwater harvesting, greywater recycling, sustainable drainage or Integrated Water Management.
• Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, accessible and practical guidance.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-engagement skills with diverse partners.
• A degree-level qualification in engineering, water management or sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist technical input on water efficiency, rainwater harvesting, greywater recycling, sustainable drainage and other water-smart approaches.
• Support development projects by reviewing proposals and responding to technical enquiries.
• Turn technical knowledge into practical tools: design guidance, technical notes and implementation resources.
• Support demonstrator and pilot projects and evaluate technologies and delivery approaches.
• Build capability across the sector through workshops and knowledge-sharing.
• Track emerging technologies and advise on standards, regulation and opportunities.
• Capture and share learning to enable wider adoption and connect innovation with delivery.
