Job summary

AECOM in the United Kingdom is seeking a Water Sector Lead to shape growth across Environment & Energy Europe, with emphasis on UK & Ireland in 2027. You will champion strategic client engagement and build high-value relationships across the sector.

Reporting to the Strategy & Growth Director EUR&I, you will drive sector strategy, collaborate across lines, and provide bid leadership to win major opportunities while upholding a culture of inclusion.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in leading business development within the Water sector.
• Strong knowledge of Water sector dynamics, clients, emerging areas and key competitors.
• Proven ability to build and maintain high-value client relationships at senior levels.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to translate a vision into practical action plans.
• Seasoned capture manager with the ability to position for and secure key opportunities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Experience in Water sector-related technical delivery.
• Established industry profile with the ability to act as a thought leader.
• Membership of a recognised professional body where applicable.
• Demonstrate dedication to fostering a culture of respect, diversity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the sector, setting clear priorities and aligning activities to EUR&I Europe objectives with a focus on UK and Ireland in 2027.
• Maintain deep knowledge of market drivers, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities and respond to future needs in the sector.
• Act as the figurehead for the sector, representing AECOM at industry events and client forums to raise our profile.
• Collaborate with the Regional Water Sector Lead, Water Business Line and EUR&I Sales to ensure representation in sector strategy.
• Lead development and implementation of sector-specific growth plans, client engagement strategies and pursuits.
• Build and maintain strategic client relationships across the sector.
• Drive Water Sector win strategy and bid leadership for strategic pursuits to optimise win rate; act as Capture Manager.
• Achieve KPIs for the sector including bookings, revenue and client satisfaction.
• Ensure the pipeline is complete, accurate and provides actionable insight for decision-making.
• Drive collaboration across Business Lines for multi-disciplinary projects.
