Job summary

STRABAG UK seeks a senior commercial leader to manage the commercial function across water projects, overseeing risk, change control, and contract administration with stakeholders. You will build and lead a high-performing team, implement governance, and develop the commercial strategy to ensure NEC contracts and industry standards are met.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
• Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) or equivalent.
• In-depth understanding of NEC contracts and commercial management best practices.
• Commercially astute with substantial proven experience within a commercial role in the Water Industry.
• Expert knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract and Standard Methods of Measurement.
• Understanding of programming techniques and project controls.
• Demonstrated leadership capability with experience managing and developing high-performing teams

Responsibilities

• Manage all commercial aspects of the Project and liaise with stakeholders.
• Lead the commercial function across a portfolio of water sector projects.
• Set structure, roles, responsibilities and competencies for the commercial team.
• Build and lead a high-performing commercial team.
• Develop and implement structured development and training for Commercial Practitioners.
• Promote a culture of contractual and commercial awareness within the portfolio.
• Ensure governance and compliance with group procedures and contracts.
• Review contractual obligations and commercial risks regularly.
• Provide assurance of proper contract administration, change control and payments.
• Identify and maximise cash flow and WIP across projects.
• Identify, mitigate and manage risks and opportunities.
