Job summary

Enable Group is seeking an experienced Head of Commercial to lead and develop the commercial function within the UK water sector. This strategic role offers influence over business performance, governance and risk management from tender through to final account.

You will drive profitability, manage commercial risk, mentor teams and collaborate with operations to deliver complex infrastructure projects with a focus on value and safety.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading commercial functions in water, utilities, infrastructure or civil engineering.
• Strong understanding of commercial management principles, contract law, and NEC contracts.
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing commercial teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the company’s commercial strategy.
• Lead all commercial and contractual activities across multiple projects and frameworks.
• Provide commercial leadership throughout the project lifecycle from tender to delivery.
• Manage contractual risk and ensure compliance with obligations.
• Support business development and work-winning activities.
• Build relationships with clients, subcontractors, and supply chain partners.
• Drive profitability, cash flow and commercial best practice across the business.
• Collaborate with operational teams to deliver successful outcomes.
• Promote continuous improvement and safety within the commercial function.
