Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Commercial Manager (quantity surveyor level) to lead commercial activities across a portfolio of water and environmental projects. You will embed a culture of commercial excellence while balancing client, staff, and business performance, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver value and outcomes.

Key requirements include a background in quantity surveying and project commercial management, advanced Excel, and experience with NEC 3/4 contracts.

Qualifications

• A degree (or equivalent professional experience) in a relevant discipline.
• Background in quantity surveying and project commercial management.
• Advanced MS Excel skills and confidence using tools to analyse, manage and report data.
• Solid knowledge of NEC 3/4 contract administration.
• Ability to produce clear, well-structured reports and deliver information in meetings.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with clients and teams.
• Experience planning project timescales, resources and commercial inputs with monitoring capability.
• Familiarity with opportunities and implications of AI adoption (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver commercial services to internal and external clients across water/environmental projects.
• Provide risk and commercial advice during bid and lifecycle.
• Ensure suitable prospect governance is in place.
• Report and forecast commercial performance with finance support.
• Carry out detailed analyses of projects from commercial/financial perspectives.
• Manage changes with focus on commercial implications and risk.
• Support the commercial team's business improvement initiatives.
