Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a Civil Engineer in Gateshead to join a growing consultancy working on water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will support design and delivery, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and apply hydraulic principles to practical civil solutions.

You'll have a Degree in Civil Engineering and CAD experience, with knowledge of UK CDM and health & safety requirements. The role offers a discretionary bonus, pension, 25 days' holiday and flexible working.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Civil engineering design experience, ideally in water or wastewater.
• CAD and relevant engineering software experience.
• Understanding of water infrastructure and hydraulic principles.
• Knowledge of CDM and UK health and safety requirements.
• Chartered status or working towards ICE, CIWEM or IoW Chartership.

Responsibilities

• Support civil design across water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Develop designs and technical information using CAD and relevant engineering software.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams throughout project delivery.
• Apply water engineering principles and hydraulic considerations to design.
• Ensure work complies with CDM and relevant UK health and safety requirements.
• Liaise with colleagues, clients and project stakeholders.
• Contribute to safe, practical and technically robust design solutions.
