Water Quantity Surveyor – NEC Commercial Lead

Job summary

Egis is recruiting a Water Quantity Surveyor to support commercial management across feasibility to final account on UK water projects. You will handle NEC3/NEC4 contracts, cost reporting, procurement and stakeholder engagement to ensure value for money and programme objectives.

Join a growing international consultancy with strong progression paths, chartership support, and exposure to water, environmental, defence and nuclear sectors. You will be on client sites four days per week.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in water, environment, infrastructure, defence or nuclear sectors.
• Strong knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts, particularly Options A, C and E.
• Progress towards RICS Chartership (or equivalent).
• Experience managing project costs through the full project lifecycle.
• Knowledge of CDM regulations and risk management principles.
• The confidence to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Administer NEC3 and NEC4 ECC contracts (Options A, C and E).
• Manage cost reporting, forecasting and valuations.
• Support payment certification and commercial compliance.
• Resolve contractual issues and maintain robust commercial records.
• Work closely with Project Managers and delivery teams.
• Undertake feasibility studies and cost planning activities.
• Support tender preparation and contractor procurement.
• Identify commercial risks and implement mitigation measures.
• Provide informed commercial advice throughout project development.
• Monitor project costs and commercial performance.
• Support variation management and claims resolution.
• Assist with final accounts and project close‑out activities.
• Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support bid and proposal development activities.
• Provide commercial input to winning submissions.
• Assist in developing client relationships and future opportunities.
