Job summary

Egis is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its UK Water and Environment practice in the Midlands. You will manage pre- and post‑contract activities for NEC3/4 projects with water, environment, and nuclear clients, supporting efficient supply chains and value-driven outcomes.

Based in the West Midlands with 4 days on client sites and one day at home, you will lead cost planning, contract administration, and risk management while developing your APC/RICS pathway.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying.
• Full Membership of chartered body such as RICS or an APC pathway.
• Postgraduate experience in Rail, Nuclear, Water and/or Environment.
• Line Management and recruitment experience of Quantity Surveyors or Assistant Quantity Surveyors.
• CDM regulation knowledge and experience.
• Risk management experience.
• Valid CSCS card, Water Hygiene Card desirable.
• Main contractor and/or joint venture experience working client side.
• Site presence and co-location minimum 4 days a week.
• Experienced user of the NEC3-4 suite of contracts (A-C-E must have).

Responsibilities

• NEC3/4 Option A, Option C, Option E ECC Contract management and administration client side
• Budget control
• Payment valuation and assisting the PM in payment certification
• Actual cost forecasting and Defined Cost determination
• Establishing and maintaining productive and collaborative relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure appropriate commercial records are maintained in line with the contract requirements and oversee any contractual issues
• Feasibility studies and cost planning
• Preparation of tender documentation
• Evaluation of tenders
• Risk management
• Management and administration of construction contracts, ensuring compliance with contract terms
• Cost control and valuation
• Evaluation and negotiation of change orders or variations
• Claims and dispute resolution
• Final accounts and post-project evaluation
