Job summary

Sweco in the United Kingdom is seeking a Process Engineer to contribute to AMP8 water projects, delivering process designs for water and recycling schemes. Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Process Engineering or equivalent
• Some experience in the water sector or related process-driven industry
• Good understanding of process design principles, standards and environmental considerations
• Experience producing or contributing to technical design deliverables
• Interest in progressing towards chartership (support provided)
• Familiarity with health, safety and environmental requirements in engineering projects
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, collaborative and proactive approach
• Genuine interest in sustainability and delivering environmentally responsible engineering solutions

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of process design activities, ensuring safety, technical and quality requirements.
• Prepare and contribute to design deliverables, including mass balances and P&IDs.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to support design reviews and incorporate feedback.
• Assist with design development tasks and resolve technical challenges.
• Ensure designs follow health, safety and environmental standards including DSEAR.
• Contribute to continuous improvement using innovative design approaches and digital tools.
• Engage with stakeholders and suppliers to progress design work.
• Promote sustainable design practices and carbon-reduction objectives across delivery.
