Job summary

AECOM in the UK is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Water team on high‑profile projects at home and abroad. You’ll work with hydraulic modellers, engineers and specialists from feasibility through to detailed design, gaining on‑site experience and mentoring from senior colleagues.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
Proven water sector consultancy experience.
Experience with engineering assessments, options appraisals, calculations and/or economic appraisal.
Working towards chartership with a relevant institution (e.g. ICE, CIWEM).
Experience with outline and/or detailed design, preferably for wastewater/water treatment schemes or flood risk management.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with teams of engineers to deliver hydraulic and project solutions.
Conduct technical and feasibility studies for potable, foul, surface water and attenuation needs.
Be involved in all design stages from feasibility to detailed design and prepare reports and specs.
Perform numerical analyses of potable, surface and wastewater systems.
Design water infrastructure such as treatment plants, pump systems and pipe networks with safety-focused risk assessments.
Gain on-site experience through site visits and project implementation.
