Job summary

American Society of Civil Engineers is seeking a Water Hygiene Engineer based in Darlington/North East to cover client sites across the North East. The role offers a salary up to £35,000 DOE plus a company van, fuel card, and extensive benefits, including 28 days holiday with the option to buy more.

The ideal candidate has water hygiene experience, a good work ethic, and a solid understanding of water hygiene.

Qualifications

• Experience in water hygiene or related industry.
• Knowledge of ACOP L8 and HSG274 guidelines helpful.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Perform temperature monitoring and outlet checks for hot and cold water.
• Conduct water sampling and monitoring.
• Carry out tank inspections, cleaning and disinfections.
• Descale and disinfect showers as required.
• Complete flushing regimes and routine water hygiene tasks.
• Identify and report defects or potential water hygiene risks.
• Maintain accurate service records and paperwork.

I'm looking for an experienced Water Hygiene Engineer to join a growing team, ideally based in or around Darlington, covering client sites throughout the North East.

Plumbing qualifications would be a distinct advantage, but they're not essential. Practical experience, a good work ethic and a solid understanding of water hygiene are what really matter.

What's involved?

• Completing temperature monitoring, including hot and cold water outlet checks.
• Conducting water sampling and monitoring.
• Carrying out tank inspections, cleans and disinfections.
• Undertaking showerhead descales and disinfections.
• Completing flushing regimes and other routine water hygiene tasks.
• Identifying and reporting defects or potential water hygiene risks.
• Maintaining accurate service records and completing all relevant paperwork.

What are we looking for?

• Previous experience working within the water hygiene industry.
• Knowledge of ACOP L8 and HSG274 guidelines.
• Experience carrying out routine water hygiene duties.
• Plumbing qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Good communication skills and a professional approach to client relationships.
• The ability to work independently, manage your workload and maintain accurate records.
