AECOM is recruiting Water Scientist graduates to join our Water Environment team across the UK offices (Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Nottingham) from January 2027 to October 2027. You will work on water quality, hydrology, hydro-morphology, and ES/WFD-related projects under guidance from senior colleagues.

You’ll be part of a two-year Graduate ADVANCE programme, gaining live project experience, professional development, and mentorship, with the potential to pursue CIWEM chartership.

Formación

• Degree qualified with an MSc in Geography, Geomorphology, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Hydrochemistry or similar.
• Ability to conceptualise surface water environment issues.
• Excellent report writing skills.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Have experience using GIS.
• Full driving licence would be beneficial as travel for site surveys may be required.

Responsabilidades

• Water quality studies (baseline, environmental impact, nutrient loading, pollution monitoring and modelling).
• Hydrological investigations (flood, drought and water resource allocation).
• Geomorphological studies including channel enhancements and restoration projects.
• Hydro-morphological studies assessing effects on aquatic organisms.
• WFD / Environmental Compliance studies.
• EIA support for various developments (highways, rail, utilities, renewables).
• Prepare Water Management Plans and environmental permits; assist with permits and licenses.
