Job summary

AECOM is recruiting Water Science Graduates to join our water environment team in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham or Nottingham. Start January 2027 through October 2027.

This graduate programme combines hands-on fieldwork with analysis, focusing on water quality, hydrology and river ecology within a multidisciplinary environment. You'll be paired with a senior mentor, undertake the ADVANCE development programme, and gain experience across projects for public and private sector clients, with hybrid

Qualifications

• Degree qualified with an MSc in Geography, Geomorphology, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Hydrochemistry or similar.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Experience using GIS would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Water quality studies, baseline studies, environmental impact assessment and monitoring.
• Hydrological investigations including flood and drought analysis and water resource allocation.
• Geomorphological studies and channel restoration support; WFD / Environmental Compliance studies.
• Assistance with Environmental Permits, water abstraction/licences and related permissions.
