Job summary

Veolia in Birmingham is seeking a Process Engineer to lead Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (EICA) on water treatment projects in the UK. This full-time role offers hybrid working from Birmingham, with a 37.5-hour work week.

You will manage MCCs, switchgear, software control systems and instrumentation, ensuring safety and QA compliance, and supporting tendering. The role requires degree in engineering and UK water industry experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in technical/engineering (Electrical/Electronic) or equivalent experience.
• Experience in UK water industry in a similar role.
• Knowledge of BS7671 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations.
• Strong communication with colleagues, suppliers, project managers and customers.
• Computer literacy: Word, Excel, Google.

Responsibilities

• Manage all EICA aspects on water treatment projects.
• Handle MCCs, cabling, systems integration and instrumentation.
• Produce load and instrument schedules and equipment specifications.
• Develop URS following process design consultation.
• Review sub-contractor drawings against client and VWT specs.
• Perform detailed technical bid evaluations.
• Conduct FATs for switchboard, MCC and PLC/HMI software.
• Inspect electrical equipment and perform tests.
• Oversee EICA design for installation and commissioning.
• Visit sites for client meetings and occasional supervision.
• Support tendering with EICA input.
• Report on EICA progress against budget and programme.
• Ensure QA and safety procedures are followed.
