Job summary

Stantec in the UK is seeking a Design Manager to lead major water sector projects from concept to detailed design. Based in Bristol, Cardiff, or Exeter, you’ll drive multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with clients across the UK.

You’ll deliver design and build projects, ensure best-value delivery, and mentor engineers while using Stantec’s global resources to push leading-edge solutions. Hybrid working supports work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Experienced engineer with strong technical expertise in Civils, Mechanical and Electrical, or Process engineering.
• Chartered status with a relevant engineering institution; support can be given to achieve this.
• Proven ability to lead and manage multi-disciplinary teams and major projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary design team from concept to detailed design for water projects.
• Deliver award-winning initiatives across clean water, wastewater, flood risk, and urban drainage.
• Collaborate with major UK clients and internal stakeholders to ensure value and service excellence.
• Oversee delivery, including design & build, detailed design, and owner's engineer services.
