At Severn Trent, we’re embarking on an exciting £415m project to replace 870 miles of old water pipes across the Midlands. This is the biggest investment in water infrastructure in the region in a decade, set to improve water quality, reduce leaks, and make water supply more reliable for millions of people. The new pipes installed will last up to 100 years.

We are looking for a Water Construction Technician to work as part of a team to successfully deliver Mains Renewal construction activities at specific sites within one of the four regions (North, South, East, West).
Your key role as a Water Construction Technician will be to operate assets on the network on behalf of the construction team while carrying out large-scale Mains Renewal work at specific locations.
You will support the Network Construction Manager in planning and delivering Mains Renewal schemes within your area of responsibility and work alongside the Lead Operative to deliver on-site activities.
This role involves significant, large-scale construction activity on-site, including excavation, installation, testing, and commissioning of new mains and assets.
The position is crucial in delivering large-scale construction work with significant potential risks. You will be expected to deliver construction work within set budgets, working alongside the Network Control Manager.
This role requires a 42-hour work week, Monday to Friday, starting at 7:30 AM and ending at 4:30 PM, with a half-hour early finish at 4:00 PM on Fridays.
The ideal candidate will have a full driving license and preferably hold a National Water Hygiene and NRSWA certification, with significant utility industry experience.
You should have good communication skills, the ability to build successful working relationships, and experience in risk identification and opportunity recognition.
