Job summary

AECOM offers a Civil Engineering Degree Apprenticeship in the Exeter area, pairing you with an experienced engineer and an academic pathway with University of Exeter. The role focuses on water engineering and includes live-project learning, site exposure, and a structured apprenticeship ADVANCE programme.

You’ll be supported by mentors, with a hybrid work model and a clear route to chartership. Applicants should meet school-leaver requirements and show interest in water infrastructure and career

Qualifications

• Minimum five GCSEs including English and Maths.
• Three A-levels (ABB) with Mathematics B and one other science.
• Alternative qualifications (IB, BTEC) may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Undertake technical and feasibility studies for potable, foul, surface water and attenuation requirements.
• Produce designs of water infrastructure such as pump systems and pipe networks with safety in design.
• Produce technical engineering drawings including plans, sections and details.
• Undertake numerical analysis using computer-based programmes for potable, surface and wastewater systems.
• Keep up to date with regulatory legislation and guidelines that may affect design work.
• Work with other team members to undertake technical work, site work, and project management.
• Opportunities for site visits to understand how designs are implemented.
