Job summary

AECOM is looking for an Electrical Engineering Apprentice (Level 6) in Exeter starting Summer 2027. This full-time role sits in the Water team and offers hybrid work, mentorship from experienced engineers, and a clear path toward Chartered status.

You’ll support electrical design for water infrastructure, run calculations and drawings, and use industry software to deliver project documentation. Training is on-the-job with structured study for Level 6 qualification.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 GCSEs (C/4 or above) including Maths & English.
• Three A-Levels (or equivalent) including Maths B and a physical science.
• Some work experience or shadowing in an engineering environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support senior electrical engineers in developing electrical design for water projects.
• Assist with site surveys and data gathering for assets.
• Contribute to drawings, schedules, and technical documentation.
• Apply industry software (e.g., Amtech, AutoCAD) to validate designs.
• Collaborate with 3D/BIM modelling and CAD/Revit coordination.
