Job summary

Stantec in Belfast offers a Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship in Civil Engineering (Water). You will join a local water team of about 25, collaborating with Scottish offices within the UK, and gain hands-on project experience while studying for a BEng degree.

The role includes training in industry software, and you’ll work four days a week from the office with close support from engineers and mentors. Training providers may include Queens University Belfast.

Qualifications

• Meet UCAS points and subject requirements as stated.
• Five GCSEs including Maths and English at grade 5-6 or equivalent.
• Predicted grades acceptable per advertisement and training provider options.
• Relevant alternate qualifications may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Learn how to identify practical and sustainable design solutions for wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects.
• Support design work using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and other industry software.
• Assist with engineering activities from feasibility through to construction, including calculations and analysis.
• Develop understanding of project risks and how teams manage them safely and effectively.
• Help prepare reports, presentations, bids and proposals.
• Work alongside experienced engineers and wider project teams to build your civil engineering knowledge.
• Attend meetings and workshops with clients and colleagues to learn project planning and delivery.

A Level BBC (Maths B+)

GCSE Physics/Double Award CC/44 or C/4 (Physics)

BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma DMM (Maths + Further Maths)

Scottish Highers 4 Higher (Maths)

Irish Highers H3+ (Maths)

IB Diploma 32 pts (HL Maths + another science)

5 GCSEs incl. Maths & English (grade 5-6)
