Job summary

Biffa is seeking a Transfer Station Manager to oversee daily operations, ensuring safety, compliance, and high customer service standards. You will contribute to site profitability and strategic growth, working with regional management on mid-term planning and KPI achievement.

The role requires hands-on leadership, relationship building across departments and with external partners, and the ability to multi-task in live operations while driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• COTC
• IOSH Certificate
• Experience as Operations Manager or similar in services or logistics
• People and health & safety management in a unionised environment
• Proven track record of service delivery KPI’s
• P&L experience - ideally
• Good transport / logistics knowledge

Responsibilities

• Manage transfer station operations and ensure Health & Safety compliance
• Deliver first class customer service and improve site profitability
• Support growth strategy and implement best practices for services
• Monitor and manage the full P&L budget with regional management
• Lead, coach and develop the site team to maximise performance
• Build strong internal and external relationships to drive improvements
