Job summary

The Best Connection Group is actively seeking a Waste Site Operative to support Household Waste Recycling Centres and waste management facilities. You will help customers dispose of waste correctly, promote recycling, and ensure site safety and cleanliness.

This role involves outdoor work in all weather conditions, directing customers to skips and recycling areas, and completing waste documentation while following environmental and health & safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Assist members of the public with the correct disposal and segregation of waste.
• Direct customers to the appropriate skips, containers and recycling areas.
• Ensure all waste streams are separated correctly to maximise recycling.
• Identify contaminated recyclable materials and take appropriate action.
• Maintain a clean, safe and tidy working environment.
• Ensure hazardous waste is stored and handled safely in accordance with site procedures.
• Complete waste documentation, including Waste Transfer Notes and Consignment Notes.
• Report accidents, incidents, hazards and near misses in line with company procedures.
• Follow site permits, risk assessments and FCC Environment policies.
• Use PPE correctly and promote safe working practices at all times.
• Provide excellent customer service and promote recycling best practice.

Job description

To assist with the safe and efficient operation of a Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) or waste management facility. The Waste Site Operative is responsible for helping customers dispose of waste correctly, maximising recycling rates, maintaining site cleanliness, and ensuring compliance with environmental and health & safety regulations.

This will involve working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Candidates must be able to travel to at least, two different sites.

Shifts times are:

Monday - Saturday 08:00 - 16:30 with a 30 min break unpaid.

Sunday 09:00-16:00 with a 30 min break unpaid.
