Job summary

Ciwmjobs is seeking an experienced Environmental & Compliance Manager to lead environmental compliance across waste and recycling operations in the Dudley area. You will own environmental permits, track regulatory changes and support expansion projects.

The role requires hands-on management of permits, exemptions, documentation, and regulator interactions, with a focus on ISO 14001 alignment and waste movement oversight.

Qualifications

• Experience with environmental permitting in waste/recycling sectors.
• Knowledge of waste classifications, duties of care and related documentation.
• Experience dealing with Environment Agency and regulators.
• ISO 14001 and other ISO management systems knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage environmental permits, exemptions, variations and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with waste and environmental legislation and evolving rules (e.g., digital waste tracking).
• Maintain oversight of waste classifications, codes, documentation, movements and downstream outlets.
• Liaise with Environment Agency and other regulators.
• Manage water discharge consents and environmental notifications.
• Support planning, permitting and environmental requirements for new sites and expansions.
• Advise on regulatory change and practical implementation for the business.
