Bridgend County Borough Council is seeking an Education and Enforcement Officer to support the Cleaner Streets and Waste Contract Services from the Civic Offices in Bridgend, with flexible admin-from-home days.

The role covers delivering education on recycling, enforcing environmental laws, issuing penalties, and auditing local recycling centres. A driving licence and Welsh-language ability are valued assets for this position.

Qualifications

• Experience in criminal law enforcement and investigative procedures.
• Understanding of PACE standards and investigative practices.
• Full, clean UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle.

Responsabilités

• Deliver community education on recycling and waste minimisation.
• Investigate environmental offences such as fly-tipping, littering and dog fouling.
• Issue Fixed Penalty Notices, interview under caution, compile prosecution files and attend court.
• Monitor waste contractor performance, conduct LEAMS inspections and audit Community Recycling Centres.
• Resolve incident reports via the DASH system and collaborate with internal teams.
• Assess and approve waste dispensation requests for large families or medical needs.
