Job summary

Veolia is seeking an experienced fleet/operations manager to oversee kerbside collections under a major UK contract. You will lead a 75-strong team, ensure vehicle checks and maintenance, and drive cost-efficient routing while upholding health and safety standards.

The role involves reporting to the Senior Contract/Contract Manager, producing weekly and monthly performance data, and continuously improving service delivery to meet resident and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Experience managing large teams in an operations setting.
• Strong leadership, communication and budgeting skills.
• Experience in the waste sector is preferred.
• CPC qualification is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a 75-person workforce including Service Delivery Managers, Drivers and Operatives.
• Ensure fleet checks, servicing and maintenance are carried out to a high standard.
• Optimise routes and resources to achieve cost efficiency while complying with policies and safety.
• Compile weekly and monthly performance reports for senior management.
• Manage absence, performance issues and disciplinary actions as required.
• Maintain strong customer relations and meet contract KPIs.
