Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a Waste and Environmental Manager for a state-of-the-art waste centre in Bridgwater, Somerset. You will oversee day-to-day operations in a manufacturing setting, ensuring compliant, efficient resource management.

The role requires NEBOSH and WAMITAB qualifications, strong leadership, budget control, and a proactive, forward-thinking approach to Health and Safety and sustainability. Salary £75,000–£80,000 with pension, car allowance and relocation support.

Qualifications

• Experience in waste management within manufacturing or production.
• Knowledge of waste management processes and regulations.
• Open-minded and forward-thinking approach.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Ability to manage budgets and targets effectively.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Commitment to health and safety best practices.
• Knowledge of COMAH regulations.
• Waste management experience in battery/fuel cell environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the waste centre to ensure efficiency and compliance with regulations.
• Oversee waste processing, storage, and transportation to meet operational targets.
• Ensure health and safety protocols are strictly followed across the site.
• Monitor and manage budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations.
• Lead, train, and motivate the team to achieve performance goals.
• Implement and maintain environmental and sustainability practices.
• Prepare operational reports and provide updates to senior management.
• Coordinate with external partners and regulatory bodies as required.
