Job summary

Northumberland County Council is seeking a Data and Insight Analyst to lead on waste data and compliance projects within the Contracts and Commercial Team. You will develop data visualisations and establish robust data collection for EPR reporting, and ensure Digital Waste Tracking compliance across facilities including Cowley Road Waste Transfer Station.

The role requires a degree in a relevant discipline, professional waste qualifications, and strong project management experience.

Qualifications

Degree in Environmental Science/Management, Waste & Resource Management, Data Analytics or Engineering.
CIWM membership (Grad/MCIWM) or WAMITAB qualification relevant to municipal waste operations.
Holder of a valid UK driving licence.
Working knowledge of EPR, DRS and Digital Waste Tracking reporting.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support with managing, reporting and interpreting waste data.
Act as a waste contamination champion by monitoring waste rejection and sampling for recycling.
Collaborate with Neighbourhood Services and Suez to reduce contamination costing NCC over £1m/year.
Support operational colleagues to understand and report on profitability of trade waste services.
Lead on handling FOI requests for the team.
