Job summary

This modern apprenticeship offers hands-on experience in Waste Awareness and Enforcement within Powys County Council. You will study towards a recognised qualification, earn while you learn and begin at the salary floor with yearly increases as you gain skills.

You will support our frontline team in the office, handling customer enquiries, admin tasks, preparing case files, assisting with legal notices and community engagement to promote recycling and waste minimisation.

Qualifications

• Interest in environmental issues, especially recycling.
• Good communication skills for community engagement.
• Strong administrative skills to handle correspondence and case files.
• Willingness to learn towards a recognised qualification.

Responsibilities

• Support frontline Awareness and Enforcement team in the office.
• Handle customer enquiries and perform admin tasks.
• Prepare case files and issue legal notices as required.
• Assist with grants, invoices and purchase orders.
• Participate in community engagement activities to promote waste minimisation.
