Job summary

Powys County Council is hiring an apprentice to join the Waste Awareness and Enforcement team. You will learn on the job, study towards a recognised qualification, and earn while you learn.

Salary starts at the lower end and increases with experience and qualifications as you move up to the full role salary. The role involves office-based support to the frontline team, handling customer enquiries, processing admin tasks and promoting waste minimisation in the community.

Qualifications

• Interest in environmental issues, particularly recycling.
• Good communication skills for community engagement.
• Good administrative skills for customer contact, correspondence, and filing.

Responsibilities

• Support frontline Awareness and Enforcement team with enquiries and admin tasks.
• Assist in promoting recycling schemes and encouraging participation.
• Prepare case files, issue legal letters, grants, invoices and purchase orders.
