Job summary

Pembrokeshire County Council is seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Waste Transfer Station Operative to join our Environmental Services team at a modern Waste Transfer Station facility in Pembrokeshire. The role involves operating vehicles, plant and machinery, carrying out waste sorting, monitoring contamination, and conducting daily equipment inspections to ensure safe, compliant operations.

You will maintain records, support weighbridge tasks, and help keep the site clean while working

Qualifications

• Relevant experience within the waste industry or similar operational environment.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures and safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles, plant and machinery at the waste transfer station.
• Carry out waste sorting activities and monitor contamination levels.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and maintain site cleanliness.
• Undertake weighbridge operations and complete operational records.
