Pembrokeshire County Council is hiring a Local Environmental Advisor to improve recycling performance, reduce contamination and support waste legislation compliance across the county. You will engage residents, businesses and groups to promote waste reduction, reuse, and recycling initiatives.

Working in the Environmental Services team, you will provide advice, monitor adherence to policies, and collaborate with partners to achieve environmental improvements and change behaviour.

Qualifications

• Has experience in environmental services, waste management, education, enforcement or a related field.
• Can communicate effectively and confidently with members of the public.
• Has strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Is able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Has a commitment to customer service, environmental sustainability and continuous improvement.
• Can interpret and apply waste management policies, procedures and relevant legislation.

Responsabilités

• Promote waste reduction, reuse and recycling initiatives.
• Provide advice and education on correct waste presentation.
• Monitor compliance with waste and recycling requirements.
• Investigate reported issues and work with colleagues to improve outcomes.
