Job summary

Gi Group UK is recruiting multiple Warehouse Technicians for a hands-on role in Basingstoke (Daneshill area) within an event lighting and rigging brand. You’ll clean, programme and test lights for events, with Monday–Friday 09:00–18:00 and weekly pay.

The position offers potential for a permanent contract and regular overtime at a 1.5x rate. Ideal candidates are physically capable, able to perform heavy lifting, stand for long periods, and maintain meticulous testing records.

Monday-Friday 09:00-18:00 (40 hours paid per week)

£12.71 per hour

Overtime Rate £19.07 per hour

We have exciting new opportunities for multiple Warehouse Technicians to join a well-established brand specialising within the event lighting and rigging industry.

This is an extremely hands‑on Warehouse technician role, where you will be required to clean, programme and test lights prior to being distributed to and from events.

This role is ideal for individuals who have an interest in the lighting industry where you will have the opportunity to learn and develop new skills as well as the opportunity to gain a permanent contract.

Key Responsibilities of a Production Operative

• Cleaning of event lights ranging in size and weight
• Programming and setting lights according to client requirements
• Testing lights and fixtures prior to distribution
• PAT Testing - full training provided
• Moving heavy cases, hanging lights, visual and physical tests involved
• Lifting and manoeuvring lights within department placing in correct racking area
• Loading and unloading of equipment where required

Requirements of a Production Operative

• Physical role: Candidates must be able to carry out manual tasks throughout the shift.
• Heavy lifting - Some products within the department require heavier lifting, so you must be comfortable with this.
• Standing for long periods - The role involves being on your feet for the full duration of the shift.
• Attention to detail - Testing lights, measuring brightness, recording outputs, ensuring all tests are logged correctly. You must be able to identify quality issues or defects before items move to the next stage of being packed for distribution.
• Teamwork - Candidates will be expected to work closely alongside colleagues, operating in small, collaborative teams where effective communication, cooperation, and awareness of others are essential.
