Senior Prep Technician – AV, Lighting & Special Effects

Department: Warehouse Operations

Reports to: Warehouse Manager

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: £40k-£42.5k according to experience

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced prep technician to join our warehouse team. This role involves preparing equipment to send out on events and rentals. Our technicians ensure 100% accuracy on orders leaving our warehouse.

This is a key role in the operational flow of our business, requiring an organized individual with technical proficiency and a proactive attitude. You’ll be working with high-spec AV, lighting, and special effects equipment, supporting our hires and production teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment for upcoming hires and projects, following job sheets and specs

• Occasionally test equipment to confirm it is fully operational

• Select and pack all necessary accessories, cables, and consumables

• Label, and present all items to the highest standard

• Flag and report any faults, damage, or missing items prior to dispatch

• Use warehouse scanning systems to allocate and track stock

• Liaise with the De-Prep and Check-In teams to maintain efficient stock rotation

• Ensure prep bays and working areas are clean, safe, and well-organised

• Plan loading vehicles with logistics manager

Required skills

• Extensive experience in warehouse operations within the events industry (essential)

• In-depth knowledge of production equipment – Audio, lighting, AV

• Hands-on technical or logistical experience in a busy events environment

• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure

• Great communication and teamwork skills

• Physically fit – this role includes manual handling of equipment

• Comfortable with scanning/stock management systems

• Flexible and proactive approach to supporting both warehouse and driving duties
