Job summary

DP World in Burton upon Trent is seeking a Warehouse Team Leader to lead a team of up to 30 colleagues and drive daily operational targets with a strong emphasis on safety and quality. You will organise workloads, monitor performance and develop staff to reach high standards.

This leadership role requires experience in warehouse supervision, strong people management, and familiarity with warehouse systems and Excel. A proactive approach to process improvement is essential.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience supervising teams in warehouse or distribution environments.
• Strong people management including performance and absence management.
• Good understanding of health and safety legislation and quality standards.
• Experience conducting investigations and supporting disciplinary processes.
• Proficiency in Excel and MS Office applications.
• Knowledge of warehouse processes and resource planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and support a team of warehouse operatives to achieve daily targets.
• Organise workloads and allocate resources to maintain productivity and service levels.
• Conduct absence management activities, return-to-work meetings, investigations, and disciplinary processes.
• Monitor performance and ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety, quality, and compliance.
• Coach and develop team members on warehouse processes and best practices.
• Liaise with colleagues across departments to meet operational requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and team performance.
• Deputise for the Supervisor when required and provide leadership.
