Job Opportunity: Warehouse Team Leader

Nelson Permanent Placements is recruiting for an International Distribution business specializing in the electrical market. We are seeking a Warehouse Team Leader to work alongside the Warehouse Manager and lead the morning shift team.

The role involves supporting warehouse operations and driving improvements. You will lead a team of 10-15 operatives with the support of a warehouse manager. The operation team has extensive experience, ensuring strong support and guidance.

The distribution center and head office are located in a state-of-the-art facility spanning 100,000 sq ft.

As a privately-owned SME, our client values its employees and is a market sector leader, seeking top talent to join their team.

The company is implementing a new Warehouse Management System (WMS) this year. Candidates with strong experience in WMS are preferred.

Minimum Requirements:

• Robust warehouse background, ideally in a similar leadership role
• Ability to commute to Tamworth

Salary & Working Hours:

• GBP 28,000 - GBP 34,000 per annum
• 05:00 - 14:00, Monday to Friday

Main Duties:

• Manage and motivate warehouse staff
• Organize staff attendance and manage staffing gaps
• Assist with WMS management and implementation
• Plan and organize workload to meet deadlines
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
• Maintain high standards of work and integrity
• Communicate effectively with senior colleagues
• Participate in process improvements and team role development
• Order picking, packing, and processing customer collections
• Operate forklift trucks safely
• Manage stock rotation and condensing
• Maintain warehouse housekeeping
• Address order discrepancies and shortages
• Manage stock locations and labeling
• Conduct forklift and MHE checks

Skills & Experience:

• Knowledge of Re-Work processes (e.g., Acel, Whitbread, Engraving)
• Experience with Export functionalities
• Forklift license (FLT)
• IT literacy
• Understanding of workplace health and safety
• Strong communication and leadership skills
