GXO Logistics, Inc. in Northampton is seeking a Warehouse Team Leader to lead from the front at our state-of-the-art site. You will train colleagues, ensure QHSE compliance, and meet contractual requirements while driving efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, coach and develop teams to achieve KPIs and ensure training, PPE, and support are provided.
• Promote health, safety, environmental and compliance culture; ensure procedures are followed and incidents investigated.
• Monitor and improve operational performance, drive efficiencies, manage productivity and workloads to meet deadlines.
• Support welfare and engagement by coaching and mentoring; create a positive high-performance environment.
• Provide operational reporting and communicate progress, risks, and training needs to management.

We are looking for a Warehouse Team Leader that can lead from the front. Based at our state of the art, purpose-built site in Northampton. You will be responsible for ensuring all colleagues within the team are trained in their respective tasks, adhering to QHSE rules and procedures whilst meeting or exceeding operational requirements within the contract.

This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday, covering the hours of 06:00 to 14:00 and 14:00 to 22:00, on a two-week rotation.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Lead, motivate, coach and develop teams to achieve operational KPIs, ensuring colleagues have the skills, training, PPE, and support required to perform effectively and safely
• Promote a strong health, safety, environmental, hygiene, and compliance culture by ensuring procedures are followed, training is delivered, incidents are reported and investigated, and site standards are maintained
• Monitor and improve operational performance through reviewing processes, driving efficiencies, managing productivity, prioritising workloads, and delegating tasks to meet deadlines
• Support colleague welfare and engagement by acting as a coach and mentor, addressing initial welfare matters fairly, and creating a positive environment that encourages high performance
• Provide operational reporting and statistical feedback, support management projects and initiatives, and communicate effectively with management on progress, risks, damages, and training requirements

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Experience in leading a team within a fast-paced operation of FMCG, automation and multi-channel
• Strong ability to quickly learn, adapt, and implement new systems, processes, and ways of working
• Committed to maintaining high health, safety, and environmental standards, with IOSH certification (or higher)
• Demonstrated success in improving warehouse performance and operational efficiency while controlling and minimising costs
• Effective and persuasive communicator with strong decision-making skills, a customer-focused approach, and a commitment to leading by example
