Job summary

GXO Logistics in Northampton is seeking a Warehouse Team Leader to lead from the front, ensuring training, safety and performance within a fast-paced FMCG operation. You will coach colleagues and drive improvements while maintaining WMS and procedures to meet contract requirements.

The role requires working 06:00–14:00 and 14:00–22:00 on a two-week rotation, with a strong focus on developing people, maintaining safety standards, and delivering KPIs.

We are looking for a Warehouse Team Leaderthat can lead from the front. Based at our state of the art, purpose-built site in Northampton. You will be responsible for ensuring all colleagues within the team are trained in their respective tasks, adhering to QHSE rules and procedures whilst meeting or exceeding operational requirements within the contract.

This is a full-time, permanent position, workingMonday to Friday, covering the hours of 06:00 to 14:00 and 14:00 to 22:00, on a two-week rotation.

What you'll do on a typical day:

• Lead, motivate, coach and develop teams to achieve operational KPIs, ensuring colleagues have the skills, training, PPE, and support required to perform effectively and safely
• Promote a strong health, safety, environmental, hygiene and compliance culture by ensuring procedures are followed, training is delivered, incidents are reported and investigated, and site standards are maintained
• Monitor and improve operational performance through reviewing processes, driving efficiencies, managing productivity, prioritising workloads, and delegating tasks to meet deadlines
• Support colleague welfare and engagement by acting as a coach and mentor, addressing initial welfare matters fairly, and creating a positive environment that encourages high performance
• Provide operational reporting and statistical feedback, support management projects and initiatives, and communicate effectively with management on progress, risks, damages and training requirements

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Experience in leading a team within a fast-paced operation of FMCG, automation and multi-channel
• Strong ability to quickly learn, adapt, and implement new systems, processes, and ways of working
• Committed to maintaining high health, safety and environmental standards, with IOSH certification (or higher)
• Demonstrated success in improving warehouse performance and operational efficiency while controlling and minimising costs
• Effective and persuasive communicator with strong decision‑making skills, a customer‑focused approach and a commitment to leading by example
