The Best Connection are recruiting for a Warehouse Team Leader to join our established logistics operation in Kettering. This is a temp-to-perm role with an immediate start and real scope for long-term progression.

You will lead a busy warehouse floor, work closely with the Shift Manager, and ensure loading/unloading of tyres is performed safely, efficiently and to KPI targets. A strong focus on health and safety and staff development is essential.

Warehouse Team Leader - Temp to Perm

Kettering, Northamptonshire

£15.38 per hour, (£32,000 per year)

The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Team Leader to join a well-established logistics and distribution operation in Kettering. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with an immediate start and excellent long-term prospects for the right candidate.

About the Role

Warehouse Team Leader - Main duties and requirements are:

• Leading and supervising the warehouse team on a daily basis
• Working closely with the Shift Manager to ensure the smooth running of the warehouse operation
• Working hands-on on the shop floor, leading by example and supporting the warehouse team
• Loading and unloading tyres, ensuring goods are handled safely and efficiently
• Organising and allocating staff and resources to meet daily operational requirements
• Monitoring team productivity and ensuring KPIs and performance targets are achieved
• Communicating daily targets, instructions and operational updates to the warehouse team
• Supporting the induction, training and development of new and existing employees
• Ensuring all warehouse processes are followed correctly and safely
• Maintaining high standards of health and safety, including manual handling and PPE requirements
• Ensuring freight is sorted, handled and stored correctly to minimise damage and discrepancies
• Reporting any damaged freight, operational issues or safety concerns to management
• Maintaining a clean, secure and organised warehouse environment
• Supporting the team to deliver a high level of customer service
• Helping to resolve day-to-day operational issues and supporting the Shift Manager where required
• Promoting good teamwork, communication and a positive working environment

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics or distribution environment
• Previous experience supervising or leading a warehouse team is preferred
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations and safe working practices
• Comfortable working hands-on on the shop floor
• Experience with loading and unloading goods is essential
• Physically fit and comfortable handling tyres
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Ability to motivate and lead a team
• Experience working to KPIs and productivity targets
• Strong focus on health and safety
• Reliable, proactive and able to work well under pressure
• A positive attitude and willingness to lead by example
