Job summary

Adecco Dudley is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor for the night shift to oversee a small team of 3–4 operatives. The role involves coordinating workloads, ensuring accurate picking, packing and dispatch, and maintaining high health and safety standards on a busy night shift site in Dudley.

You will prioritise workloads, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement while liaising with production, transport and day shift teams to ensure smooth handovers.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control and goods dispatch.
• Experience in manufacturing, engineering, industrial or distribution environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with production, transport and day shift teams for smooth handovers.
• Assist with loading and unloading deliveries when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and support a team of 3-4 Warehouse Operatives during the night shift.
• Allocate daily workloads and monitor performance to ensure productivity targets are achieved.
• Ensure customer orders are picked, packed, checked, and dispatched accurately and on time.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping across the warehouse.
• Conduct regular stock checks and support inventory accuracy initiatives.
• Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, reporting issues where necessary.
• Ensure all warehouse processes and procedures are followed consistently.
• Provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to warehouse team members.
• Liaise with production, transport, and day shift teams to ensure smooth operational handovers.
• Support continuous improvement activities to enhance warehouse efficiency and service levels.
• Complete relevant warehouse administration and reporting requirements.
• Assist with loading and unloading deliveries when required.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience in a Warehouse Supervisor, Team Leader, or Senior Warehouse Operative position.
• Experience managing or leading small warehouse teams.
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and goods dispatch.
• Experience working within a manufacturing, engineering, industrial, or distribution environment is highly desirable.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
• Confident communicator capable of motivating and managing a team.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions during night shift operations.
• Counterbalance FLT licence would be advantageous but not essential.
• Good working knowledge of health and safety procedures.
• Competent IT skills and experience using warehouse management systems.
• Committed to delivering excellent customer service and operational performance.
