Job summary

JINGDONG Logistics is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to lead daily warehouse operations in a fast-paced environment. You will oversee goods receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, and stock replenishment, ensuring adherence to SOPs and safety standards.

The role emphasizes people management, clear communication, and the ability to optimise across inbound/outbound flows, with a focus on accuracy, temperature control, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a warehouse supervisory role, preferably within a cold chain, food, pharmaceutical, or temperature-controlled environment.
• Good understanding of warehouse operations including inbound, outbound, inventory, and stock control.
• Experience supervising warehouse teams and managing daily operational performance.
• Strong communication and people management skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily warehouse activities, including goods receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, and stock replenishment.

• Assist with stock reconciliation and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Ensure correct stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO where applicable) and proper storage practices.
• Support inventory audits and maintain accurate warehouse records.
• Supervise warehouse operatives and temporary agency workers during daily operations.

About The Team

Key Responsibilities

Daily Warehouse Operations

• Supervise daily warehouse activities, including goods receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, and stock replenishment.
• Ensure all warehouse operations are completed in accordance with SOPs, GDP (where applicable), food safety requirements, and company standards.
• Monitor workflow throughout the shift and allocate labour effectively to meet operational priorities.
• Support smooth inbound and outbound operations while maintaining product quality and temperature integrity.

Inventory Control

• Monitor inventory accuracy through cycle counts and stock investigations.
• Assist with stock reconciliation and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Ensure correct stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO where applicable) and proper storage practices.
• Support inventory audits and maintain accurate warehouse records.

Team Leadership

• Supervise warehouse operatives and temporary agency workers during daily operations.
• Conduct shift briefings, allocate work, and monitor productivity throughout the shift.
• Provide coaching, training, and on-the-job support to improve team capability and performance.
• Support attendance management, performance monitoring, and disciplinary processes in partnership with HR and Warehouse Management.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Promote a strong health and safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
• Monitor safe working practices within chilled and frozen environments.
• Ensure PPE requirements are followed and warehouse equipment is operated safely.
• Report and investigate accidents, near misses, and operational incidents, implementing corrective actions where required.

Performance & Continuous Improvement

• Monitor operational KPIs including productivity, accuracy, service level, and labour efficiency.
• Identify operational issues and implement practical improvements to increase efficiency.
• Escalate recurring operational risks and recommend process improvements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of best practices.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Warehouse Managers, Transport, Inventory, Customer Service, and other departments to ensure smooth operational execution.
• Support effective communication across shifts and departments.
• Respond promptly to operational issues and customer requirements to maintain service levels.

Skills & Experience

Essential

• Previous experience in a warehouse supervisory role, preferably within a cold chain, food, pharmaceutical, or temperature-controlled environment.
• Good understanding of warehouse operations including inbound, outbound, inventory, and stock control.
• Experience supervising warehouse teams and managing daily operational performance.
• Strong communication and people management skills.
• Good problem-solving and organisational abilities.
• Competent in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements within warehouse operations.

Desirable

• Experience working within chilled or frozen warehouse environments.
• Forklift licence (Reach, Counterbalance, VNA or equivalent where required).
• Knowledge of GDP, HACCP, BRCGS, or food safety standards.
• Experience working with automation or warehouse technology.
